Daniel asked:
How do I know what size adapter can fit my portable dvd player? I lost the original box, and the original charger so I want to buy another one. On the back the only information I see on it says Dc 9-12v and 1A under where it says power source, and I have no clue what that means.

It’s an Audiovox and the model number is d1708.
Thanks in advance

The info you give is good except for 1 thing, I now know the power specs, but not the polarity. You should be able to get a generic DC (Direct Current) 12V (12 volt) 1A (1 amp) power supply at any electronics store, like Radio Shack. There should be a polarity marking on the player that looks something like this - C + or + C -. This tells the polarity of the device. If the opening of the C is towards the + sign, it means the positive line is on the center pin of the plug, and vice versa for the negative. If you take the player with you to a store, they should be able to help you pretty quickly. You would need to take the player with you so you could get a power supply that had the appropriate sized connector plug. It should be easy enough, since 12V DC power supplies are probably the most common kind. Hope this helps.
